Principal's Notes - December 22nd

Dear Memorial Families,
Wishing you and your family a healthy, happy and fun-filled holiday! Sincere thanks to all of our families ... we donated over 2000 items to the Bedford Food Pantry. Special thanks to   staff and families who made donations to brighten the holidays of those in need.We are a small school with a big heart. Thank you for your kindness and generosity.

Guidance Message
Week of December 19:
December 21: Phrase of the Day: “Life is full of choices.  Choose carefully.”
We have many choices in life.  We can make choices that are good for us and others, or ones that hurt ourselves and others. When we control our anger and other feelings, we make positive choices and feel proud.  
December 22: Review of the month's concepts. Peacemaker Challenge:  Be kind to all and have a great vacation!

Ski NH Snow Passports
4th and 5th grade students are eligible for a passport booklet containing vouchers for lift tickets and trail passes in New Hampshire.  Click HERE for more information.

Lost and Found
Please stop by or have your children check the lost and found for cloth items they have left here. On Friday of vacation we will be packing up all the items and donating them to a charity as we do every vacation.

SAVE THE DATE: January 19th, 2017, 6p.m. - 8p.m. in the Lurgio Middle School Media Center Retired NH Supreme Court Chief Justice John Broderick will present “Mental Health: A Little Knowledge Can Go a Long Way”. Chief Justice Broderick is leading a statewide campaign to bring mental illness out of the shadows. He will share his own story and will lead a discussion on ways to address this important issue here in Bedford. Space is limited, please come early. The PTG is proud to be co-sponsoring this event with the Bedford School District and BeBOLD.

Dressing for the Weather - Recess
Students will go outside for recess (before school and at lunchtime). Please make sure to send your child to school with a warm coat, hat, mittens/gloves, snow pants and boots.  Children are allowed to play in the snow if they have on snow pants and boots.  Otherwise, they’ll have to play on the hot top only.
