NH Tackles Hunger fundraiser

In previous years WMUR has partnered with the NH Food Bank and 57 NH High School football teams to collect food and monetary donations for pantries and programs around the state. The food drive/fundraiser is known as Tackles Hunger. This year’s Tackles Hunger food drive is going to be quite different due to several factors surrounding 2020. This year the program is open to all 89 high schools in the state of NH and only monetary donations are being collected via the NH Food Bank website. All high schools have been paired with a pantry or program in their town or region, and your program is one such recipient! You can see the full list of schools and their partnering program here. https://www.nhfoodbank.org/nh-tackles-hunger/

Over the next month, residents of NH, businesses, schools and more will make monetary donations via this same website link, and any funds that are collected for your assigned school will be credited to your Food Bank account at the conclusion of the drive. We will notify you then as to how much money was donated to your program via the high school.
We are excited about this virtual food drive and hope that you are too. If for any reason you feel that you do not want to participate in this virtual food drive/fund raiser please let us know. Thanks so much.

Start of School Information

Reminders for the first day of school:

It’s very important that you read the appropriate Parent Guide thoroughly before school starts.

However, there are some important points that we wanted to highlight for you.

Drop Off Time

Drop-off begins at 7:45 AM rather than 7:30 AM as we cannot have all of the students on the playground in the morning as we typically do.  Students will go directly to their classrooms.

Drop Off & Pick Up Procedures

            Drop Off (7:45 AM - 8:00 AM):

Starting at 7:45 AM, parents/guardians will drop off their children off in front of the building where they will enter and go directly to their classroom.  K-2 students will enter the front doors and 3rd and 4th grade students will enter the door next to the cafeteria.  Click HERE for a more detailed map.

Pick-Up (2:20 PM)

By 2:20 PM, students will be in the cafeteria and ready to be dismissed to their parents/guardians' vehicles. Parents/guardians will proceed through the parking lot and loop around to the cafeteria door.  Staff members will be present to help direct traffic and dismiss children.  Children will need to enter their vehicles on the passenger side.  Each vehicle should have a clearly labelled and visible sign with the first and last name(s) of the child(ren) being picked up, and parents/guardians must be prepared to show identification until duty people are familiar with you.

*The primary responsibilities for staff members during drop-off and pick-up are to direct traffic and guide students entering and exiting the building, not to unload or load children into vehicles.  Please have your children practice exiting and entering your vehicle independently.

Attendance

Attendance will be recorded daily.  During Remote, In-school and Distance Learning days parents will need to call the Attendance Line if their child is unable to attend or participate.

Mask Requirement

Masks are required when social distancing is not possible (i.e. bus, hallways, bathrooms) and are recommended at all times.  Please send in a cloth mask (preferable) with your child each day.  Gaiters, bandanas and shields are discouraged.

Quarantine Protocols

Please adhere to this FLOWCHART for protocols.

Layers of protection

CDC has a new video posted yesterday to their site explaining layers of protection.  This may be a good one to put on your teacher website.
