Principals' Notes- April 8th

Dear Memorial Families,
It has been wonderful seeing so many families visit the book fair! I am so excited to share that we raised $9,848.00 from our annual Spring Fling. Special thanks to Dee Herrin and her team of volunteers for organizing this fun-filled event. Thank you again to the communities and families that contributed to the baskets and thanks to all our families that participated in Spring Fling. These funds are used to continue our Artist in Residence Programs, expand technology, add to our playground, and continue work on the outside garden. We appreciate all your support!!!

Online Report Cards for Quarter 3
For quarter 3, parents will receive a printed hard copy of the report card in addition to online access to the report card. The final quarter 4 report card will be published online only. You will notice that the report card format has changed. The new improved design has been simplified and you will be able to print a copy of the report card directly from the PowerSchool Parent Portal.
If you do not already have a PowerSchool Parent Portal account, we urge you to create one as soon as possible. If you already have an account, no further action is required. A letter was sent home today that provides the information needed to create your PowerSchool account and link your account to your child. Once your account is setup, you will continue to use this same account each year to access your child’s information.

Community-Wide Substance Abuse Discussion on Sunday April 10
You are invited to an important event entitled "It’s Time to Break the Silence!"  This community-wide discussion will be held at the Bedford Presbyterian Church on Sunday, April 10 from 6:30-8:00 PM. If your child receives special education services, you are being asked to complete a survey about the district's efforts to involve parents in improving services and results for children. Paper surveys are in the mail complete with a pre-paid return envelope. If you prefer, you can go to www.NHParent.com and complete the survey online. Surveys must be completed by May 13th. Your opinions are very important, and we hope you share them.

Bedford Schools Water Supply
Concerns about the water supply have been in the news recently.  We want to make sure everyone on our community knows that none of the water supplying the Bedford Schools comes from the Merrimack Village Water District. Manchester Water Works supplies Peter Woodbury and Memorial. Pennichuck Water Works supplies McKelvie, Lurgio, Bedford High School, and Riddle Brook through a Manchester water source.
