ParentSquare
On Monday, September 27, 2021 you received an email from Kevin Federico (Director of Technology) explaining the District’s change to ParentSquare.  On Tuesday, September 28, 2021 you received an invite from ParentSquare to activate your account.  If you have not activated your account, please do so by visiting https://www.parentsquare.com/signin.  We suggest that you also download and install the ParentSquare App on your phone.  The app will allow you to see all news from all schools you have children attending in the Bedford School District. Instructions have been created to help assist parents on our district technology website.

Changing Weather
Our weather is turning colder.  Please make sure children are coming to school dressed appropriately.  We have a number of students coming in and asking for extra coats, sweatshirts, and gloves and are having a difficult time accommodating all of them.  Thank you!

Would You Like to Work at Memorial School?
We have opening paraprofessional positions. If you are interested and would like to know more about the position, please reach out to Beth Purcell at purcellb@sau25.net.

affordable books for every reading level. Please make plans to visit our Book Fair and be
involved in shaping your child’s reading habits.

new “Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Big Shot”, scheduled to be released at the end of this month! We
will have additional details in the coming week on how to take advantage of this special offer!
This is a Memorial School only event and all proceeds will go directly back to the school for
educational related materials.
We can’t wait to see you there!

Reminders

Memorial named a 2021 National Blue Ribbon School
As I sent out earlier last week we were recognized as one of the National Blue
Ribbon Schools for 2021. We are very proud of our students and staff that made this possible. We also recognize our parent community who supports us and supports education in Bedford. We are blessed to be in this community where education is so highly valued and everyone's hard work is acknowledged. We will recognize our staff and students and their successes throughout the year and will be planning a school-wide culminating celebration this spring.

School Lunches
As you are aware our school lunches are free for students this year. The free lunch includes an entree with vegetables, 1-2 servings of fruit, a second vegetable, and 1 milk. If students would like additional items they can be purchased through their lunch account. Additional items may include bottled water $.50 each, a juice cup $.50 and/or a second milk $.50.

American Heart Challenge
The American Heart Association named Memorial as one of the top 10 donors in the state of New Hampshire last year during our Kids Heart Challenge month! This program teaches heart-healthy habits and helps the American Heart Association raise money for research and education that saves lives. Thank you so much to the Memorial community for their continued generosity. We are so proud of our school!

News from the Health Office
We ask that you continue to monitor your children for any symptoms related to COVID-19. Please keep in mind that DHHS recommends COVID testing for any new or unexplained symptoms, and our school district follows that recommendation. If you have any questions about whether to send your child in or get tested you can contact Anna Cook, school nurse. If your child is being treated for seasonal allergies please notify her as well.

Please see THIS LETTER regarding "Face Mask Use" from DHHS.

Destination Imagination
The Bedford School District is proud to offer Destination Imagination (Bedford DI) as an extra curricular program in all of our schools. Registration is now open and anyone interested should complete the application here For more information on What is DI/Covid-19 guidelines, please check https://bit.ly/3tSLQnR. Registration closes October 1.

Thank you, Marie Russell DI Coordinator - bedfordrocksdi@gmail.com
